Enrollment requirements:

Currently the applications for the academic study year 2004/2005 (commencing on September, 2004) are accepted. For Latvian citizens enrollment requirements are described here.


Procedure to be observed for foreign students:

Step 1 – be sure to make a printout of the Application Form from our Home Page (www.turiba.lv), fill it in, and send to the following address along with your documents:

Documents required for admission:

  1. Official copy of the certificate of secondary education and mark register translated into English;

  2. TOEFL (213/550 points as a minimum), IELTS (6.0 points as a minimum), or any other document or its copy certifying a command of English;

  3. affidavit of financial support certified by notary;

  4. 2 photographs (4 x 6 cm);

  5. A payment order for 50 EUR or 60 USD registration fee (non-refundable) certified by Bank;

  6. A photocopy of passport (all pages);

  7. The Application Form.

Step 2 – The School of Business Administration Turiba shall check and examine the received documents. If they comply with the requirements we shall send you the acceptance letter confirming your admission in Turiba.

Step 3 - We sign the agreement of studies. You remit the tuition fee for the first year of studies.

Step 4 - You visit the nearest consular or diplomatic representation of the Republic of Latvia and receive visa and residence permit allowing you to enter the country. (Should the consular or diplomatic representative not issue residence permit and visa - we will return you the paid tuition fee)

Step 5 - You arrive in Latvia and begin your studies in the School of Business Administration Turiba

 

Entrance examination

For Latvian citizens: there is no entrance examination. The results of the central examination in English are taken into consideration.

For foreign students: there is no entrance examination. The results of TOEFL or IELTS are taken into consideration. TOEFL –213/550 points required as a minimum. IELTS –6.0 points required as a minimum.

 

 

Residence permit

You shall present a valid travel document admitted in the Republic of Latvia. Documents to be submitted in order to receive a residence permit in the Republic of Latvia in connection with studies at the School of Business Administration Turiba:

 

  • a definite sample form for a residence permit request available at Latvian embassies and International Study Centre at the School of Business Administration Turiba;

 

  • two photographies;

 

  • a statement on fluorography or x-ray examining results;

 

  • a document confirming the envisaged place of residence in the Republic of Latvia;

 

  • a document confirming the state duty payment;

 

  • an agreement on studies in the Republic of Latvia;

 

  • a receipt confirming the payment of the fee for the current period of studies;

 

  • documents confirming that you have acquired the necessary education to start the studies;
    documents confirming the command of the language of studies.

Before the submission of the documents we shall approve the call at the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs Foreigners Service Centre or at a regional division.

Tuition fee

EUR 2370 or USD 2940 per  year for the programme Tourism and Hospitality Management. For Latvian citizens the annual fee has to be paid according to the admission rules described here. For others the annual fee has to be paid according to the enrollment procedure described above. The fee covers both lectures and other expenses related to studies – books of library, handouts, use of computers, Internet, printouts etc.

Public catering services

Each building of the School offers various eating opportunities both in canteens and cafeterias. Latvians have ancient cooking traditions of their own; at the same time, they have borrowed much from traditions of other nations, therefore, each student can select a dish to his/her taste.

There are 2 canteens and 3 cafeterias in the School of Business Administration Turiba.
